Internet Explorer's Privacy configuration tab contains a slider for specifying the browser's cookie handling. Unfortunately, due to its usage of P3P headers, NONE of the slider's privacy settings provide workable cookie management. The most restrictive "Block All Cookies" setting does what it says, which is not useable on today's web; and every other less restrictive setting freely permits third-party cookies. To get useful control over third-party cookies, intrepid users must press the intimidating "Advanced" button. Microsoft appears to have worked quite hard to facilitate Internet tracking.
